Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a somatic/body-mind approach method for processing and healing trauma and stress. The method is based on the understanding that our bodies carry our life experiences – both the conscious and the unconscious ones. When something overwhelming happens in life, which it does to everyone, the body can become stuck in a stress response (fight, flight or freeze). It doesn’t always have to be something big that happened. It can for example be that we weren’t able to just walk away or defend ourselves when someone talked to us in a hurtful way. It can also be a consequence of assault, accidents, neglect, war, natural disasters, birth trauma, emotional abuse, epigenetics or the toxic effect of ongoing fear or conflict. SE helps the body gradually find its way back to its original calm, balance and energy through helping it do what it couldn’t do by i.e. leaving or defending itself.

The answer I often get is years and many things…

Healing from fatigue can be a winding road that sometimes seems endless. There isn’t one thing that works for everyone. What does on the other hand have a deep and long-lasting effect is listening inwards, listening to the body and helping the body find it’s inner healing potential.

It’s often a very lonely road because many people don’t understand what it’s like and because we ourselves have to find what works.

SE is the method that completely revolutionized my healing journey. It was like coming home:

  • home to what felt true to me: that my body has all the answers
  • home to myself

Because of this I have finally started my 3 year long training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. During this time I will be offering sessions as a student. As part of the training I receive continuous supervision.

During a session you will receive support in listening inwards and becoming aware of what’s there in a safe and gradual way. We will move forward with great care to your boundaries, so your nervous system has a chance to regulate and heal without overwhelm.

Does this suit you?

I primarily work with women experiencing long term fatigue – post covid, burnout, ME/CFS – who are longing to connect to their own bodies ability to heal and live a more empowered and alive life. But as part of my training I’m opening up the doors wider to anyone experiencing the issues described above.
